Thom Connors first wrote poetry in high school, entering local contests and exchanging poems with friends at a local coffee shop called the “Absolute Zero.” He continued to write in college and soon began putting his words to music. He continued to write verse during his career in public assembly facility management, significantly influenced by the accompanying, extensive and distant travel. He has self-published a semi-autobiographical “coming of age “ novel, Reality Check, which he calls historical fiction. Thom has written many songs, presenting them regularly at the Hub’s open mic nights for singers and songwriters. Thom grew up in Michigan but has spent the majority of his adult life in Florida, with New Smyrna Beach becoming his permanent home after retiring over 10 years ago.
