Immerse yourself in the power of the spoken word! Join us for a captivating evening of poetry featuring inspiring readings from special guest poets, followed by a community open mic where local voices take the stage to share their craft.
Join us for a delightful evening of poetry hosted by poet, producer and publisher, Gary Broughman and published author and poet, Gloria Herdt. The evening will begin with a reading by our guest poet followed by an open mic format for the remainder of the event. No advanced sign-up required. Adults (18+) only please. Ken Simon is a retired cancer physician living in New Smyrna Beach Florida. He is active with the Live Poets of Daytona Beach and the Catholic Literary Arts in Houston. His first collection, Dancing on the Wheel – Moments of Hope at the Edge of Life, was inspired by his encounters with patients and other medical professionals and published in April, 2025 by Writer’s Ink Press.
Hosted by acclaimed poet, producer, and publisher Gary Broughman alongside published author and poet Gloria Herdt, this gathering is a celebration of the literary arts. Each event kicks off with a featured reading by our guest poet before transitioning into an open mic format for the remainder of the evening. Do I need to register in advance if I want to perform at the open mic?
No advanced sign-up is required! If you’d like to perform, you can simply arrive the night of the event. Please keep in mind that this is an adults-only (18+) environment.
